On October 28, 2025, the CDP Youth Department welcomed a delegation from the Youth Bureau of Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to CDP Headquarters and held an exchange meeting.

From the DPP Youth Bureau, Mr. Chen Kuan-ting, Director of the DPP Youth Bureau, as well as national and local legislators, participated. From the CDP, participants included Mr. Katsuhiko Yamada, Director of the CDP Youth Department; Ms. Akiko Kamei, Director of the CDP International Department; and several Members of the National Diet.

At the outset, Director Chen stated, “Taiwan and Japan share values that place importance on freedom and diversity. Through exchanges among young people, we would like to build a better society.”

Director Yamada responded, “Unilateral changes to the status quo by force cannot be tolerated. The younger generations of Taiwan and Japan must work together to protect democracy,” and the two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment.

At the conclusion of the exchange, both sides also confirmed their intention to continue interactions going forward. Director Yamada closed by stating, “We aim for a society in which young people and women become the main actors in politics, and we would like to deepen cooperation together with Taiwan.”
