On the 12th, President Yoshihiko Noda received a courtesy call from U.S. Ambassador to Japan George Glass for his inaugural address. From the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, the following attended: Katsuya Okada, Permanent Advisor; Hiroyuki Oogushi, Acting President; Junya Ogawa, Secretary-General; Kazuhiko Shigeto, Chairman of the Policy Research Committee; Atsushi Oshima, Chairperson, Business & Organizations Liaison Committee; Tetsuro Fukuyama, Next Minister of Security; and Kentaro Genma, Director of the International Department.

    During the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed, including the importance of the Japan-U.S. alliance, progress in trade negotiations, automobile tariff issues, economic security, regional situations, and the future direction of the international order. Both sides confirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and continuing dialogue to build a stable international order.
